We love Star Wars, so when we get a couple who want's to have a Star Wars wedding, we are game! Kelly and Alex were married on May 4th, 2019 at Paletta Mansion in Burlington. The first thing we saw when we arrived was this incredible cake, created by the BRIDE! MAD SKILLS!!!! and check out that Millennium Falcon crashing into the side of the cake. (Cake Tip: those are crumbled up twinkies!!!)
Alex surprised us with an incredible set of stormtrooper helmets and a fabulous Star Wars pocket square - we were in LOVE!
We were then ready for the first look and wow, what a reaction it was. So much emotion and joy. We love to see all those nerves melt away once a couple sees each other for the first time.
Paletta Mansion has some fabulous areas for photos. They had a beautiful Magnolia tree about to bloom, which made for such a soft and romantic background. We loved the waterfront and green space as well. A little muddy for sure, but as long as we stuck to the pathways, we were golden. Kelly and Alex brought some great props - from Mr. & Mrs. Balloons to stormtrooper masks, we used them all.
The ceremony was held on the patio of Paletta with raised seating for guests. There was not a bad seat to be had - it almost had an amphitheatre feel - lovely! The officiant wore the Rebel Insignia and the Best Woman proudly accessorized with a Star Wars lightsaber. Perfect for this May 4th wedding. The ceremony was full of Star Wars quotes and sentiment. We loved that the officiant asked that the wedding rings be passed amongst the guests so that each person had the chance to surround the rings with their blessings, love and good wishes. It was a lovely idea that made the guests truly a part of this union.
With the ceremony over, it was party time. The centrepieces were Star Wars DIY Diorama's flawlessly executed - must have taken hours to create.
Each guest received their very own lightsaber to take home. Who needs sparklers when you have LIGHTSABERS!!!
